| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Joanne Martha "Jody" Armstrong-Moon, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 2, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jody Armstrong-Moon was born to William G. and |
| 6 | | Beulah E. (Ealy) Wiegand in St. Charles on November 21, 1934; |
| 7 | | she attended Geneva High School and received her Bachelor of |
| 8 | | Arts from the University of Chicago; she married Andrew "Andy" |
| 9 | | F. H. Armstrong in 1959, and they settled in Mt. Carroll; she |
| 10 | | later married Don P. Moon, and they moved to Waukegan; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In Mt. Carroll, Jody Armstrong-Moon opened a |
| 12 | | lunch, gift, and clothing store, The Runaway Unicorn, which |
| 13 | | expanded to Freeport and Clinton, Iowa; she later built a |
| 14 | | career in Chicago real estate and supported her husband Don's |
| 15 | | work as president of Shimer College and minister at Christ |
| 16 | | Episcopal Church in Waukegan; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jody Armstrong-Moon enjoyed painting, writing, |
| 18 | | gardening, hiking, and traveling to visit family with Don and |
| 19 | | their beloved dog, Jed; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jody Armstrong-Moon was preceded in death by her |
| 21 | | parents and her daughter, Sarah Armstrong; and
