| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Douglas Martin "Doug" Cygan, who passed |
| 4 | | away on July 5, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Doug Cygan was born to Richard and Mary Cygan on |
| 6 | | May 23, 1963, and he grew up in Mundelein; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Doug Cygan was President at Jewel-Osco, where he |
| 8 | | first started as a parking lot cart clerk at the age of 17; he |
| 9 | | worked hard and was proud of the people and company he led; he |
| 10 | | was well-liked and respected; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Doug Cygan served on the boards of The Northern |
| 12 | | Illinois Food Bank, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and |
| 13 | | Western Michigan University, his alma mater; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Doug Cygan was loyal, generous, funny, and full of |
| 15 | | life; he had a gift for inspiring others; the highlight of his |
| 16 | | life was spending time with his family and close friends; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Doug Cygan is survived by his beloved wife and |
| 18 | | best friend, Shonna; his children, Mitchell, Taylor, Alexa, |
| 19 | | Timothy, Mikyla, and Ryan; his brothers, Rich and Scott; and |
| 20 | | his mother, Mary; therefore, be it
