SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of James Robert Halley of Colona, who passed 
4away on March 10, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Halley was born in Unionville, Missouri to 
6Lawrence and Leta Smith Halley on September 1, 1933; he proudly 
7served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he 
8married Beverly Jean Farnsworth in Unionville, Missouri on 
9January 26, 1954; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, James Halley worked for Alcoa for 36 years and 
11retired in 1995; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, James Halley enjoyed camping, fishing, and 
13spending time with family and friends at Lake Thunderhead in 
14Unionville, Missouri; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, James Halley was preceded in death by his parents; 
16his wife, Beverly; his sisters, Mary Lou Dole, Virginia Lee 
17Adkins, and Alice Kay Sterling; his brother, Lawrence Edmond 
18Halley; and his sister-in-law, Beverly Halley; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, James Halley is survived by his children, Jeanie 
20Lynn (Steve) Edwards, Randy Halley, Janice (Roger) Lee, and

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4James Robert Halley and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of James Halley as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
