| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Rosella C. "Rosie" Duffy of Pontiac, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 4, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was born in Pontiac to Matthew L. and |
| 6 | | Rebecca E. (Mowry) Nolan on July 28, 1927; she graduated from |
| 7 | | Pontiac Township High School and the University School of |
| 8 | | Beauty in Bloomington; she married James Francis Duffy at St. |
| 9 | | Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac on June 22, 1957; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was a part-time beautician and worked |
| 11 | | on the farm her entire life with her husband by her side; she |
| 12 | | was recognized for her contribution to the Illinois Farm Bureau |
| 13 | | Ag in the Classroom Fundraiser; she was a member of the |
| 14 | | Livingston County Farm Bureau, where she served on the board |
| 15 | | for over 30 years; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic |
| 17 | | Church in Pontiac, IL, a member of the St. Mary's Women's |
| 18 | | Guild, and a longtime participant of St. Mary's Catholic Church |
| 19 | | Perpetual Adoration; she was a member of the American Legion |
| 20 | | Auxiliary; in 2007, she was honored with the Livingston County |
| 21 | | Volunteer of the Year Award; and
|
