resistance, but the role |
| 8 | | of the antibiotic disposal has received little attention; and

| 9 | | WHEREAS, Improvements in the use of medically important |
| 10 | | antibiotics will help maintain these
important tools for |
| 11 | | disease treatment and control; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, United Nations environmental scientists warn that |
| 13 | | careless disposal of antibiotics could
produce antibiotic |
| 14 | | resistant bacteria; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Solving the issue will mean addressing the |
| 16 | | disposal of antibiotic pharmaceuticals; therefore,

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,
that we urge the U.S. |

| 20 | | unused antibiotics and
to pass new laws to prevent the creation |
