| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Eugene F. Banke of Elgin, who passed away |
| 4 | | on October 4, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Banke was born in Buchanan, Michigan to |
| 6 | | Raymond and Grace Goodnella Banke on November 10, 1922; he |
| 7 | | joined the United States Army in 1939 and served until he was |
| 8 | | honorably discharged; he then served in the National Guard; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Banke was employed as an electrical |
| 10 | | engineer for most of his civilian life; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Banke loved all things military and family; |
| 12 | | he was a member of the American Legion Post 57, the Masonic |
| 13 | | Temple, the Order of the Eastern Star, and he was a past Post |
| 14 | | Commander of the American Veterans Post 202; he was a founding |
| 15 | | member of the Veterans Memorial Park Association in Elgin and |
| 16 | | was proud he could contribute to such a worthwhile memorial; |
| 17 | | and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Banke was preceded in death by his son, |
| 19 | | Michael; his daughter, Barbara; his grandchild, David Henry; |
| 20 | | and his sisters, Louise Schwartz and Marie Hawkins; and
