SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Dan E. O'Brien of Huntley, who passed 
4away on July 18, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan O'Brien was born in Oak Park to Daniel C. and 
6Helen (Bowden) O'Brien on July 16, 1944; he was raised and 
7educated in Elmhurst; he attended York High School and served 
8in the United States Army Reserve; he married Barbara L. Trapp 
9on October 9, 1965 and they made their home in Hanover Park 
10where they raised their family; later, they moved to  West 
11Dundee and then Huntley in 2003; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Dan O'Brien worked as a division manager for 
13McMaster Carr for many years, retiring in 2006; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dan O'Brien was an avid golfer; he enjoyed 
15traveling and loved attending his grandchildren's activities; 
16and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, Dan O'Brien is survived by his wife, Barbara; his 
18daughter, Jamie (Jim) Wolf; his son, Dan (Christine) O'Brien; 
19his grandchildren, Lani and Megan; and his brother, Dennis 
20(Marilyn) O'Brien; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Dan E. O'Brien, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Dan O'Brien as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
