SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Diane M. Thurow of Woodstock, who passed away on June 17, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Diane Thurow was born in Chicago to Erwin W. and Ingrid E. (Thorsen) Schulz on November 10, 1928; she married John O. Thurow in Chicago on December 3, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Diane Thurow worked at Woodstock Auto Lite and the First National Bank of Woodstock for many years; and

WHEREAS, Diane Thurow was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5040 Woman's Auxiliary in Woodstock and the American Legion Woman's Auxiliary in Marengo; she was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock; she loved bringing communion to those in the hospital or nursing homes and cooking or baking for church functions or funeral luncheons; she also volunteered at the gift shop in Woodstock Memorial Hospital for many years; she enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, and spending time with those she loved; and

WHEREAS, Diane Thurow is survived by her sister, Betty Dusthimer, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including: Susie, Sherry, Laurie, Jim, Amy, Pamela, Janet, and Nancy; she was godmother to many; and

WHEREAS, Diane Thurow was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John O. Thurow; her brother, Thomas Schulz; and her niece, Denise; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Diane M. Thurow, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Diane Thurow as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
