SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Roberta Lara of Joliet, who passed away 
4on April 28, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roberta Lara was born on April 22, 1957; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Roberta Lara retired from Joliet Junior College 
7after 35 years of service, working in the records and 
8graduation departments; she received an honorary degree upon 
9her retirement; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Roberta Lara was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs 
11and Pittsburgh Steelers; her favorite saying was "cool beans"; 
12she was affectionately known as "Bobbi" and "Sissy"; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Roberta Lara was preceded in death by mother, 
14Beatrice (Frausto) Lara; her grandmother, Trinidad (Qurioz) 
15Frausto; her grandfather, Pedro Frausto; and her 
16great-grandmother, Sabina Qurioz; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Roberta Lara is survived by her sister, Theresa 
18(Brian) Baranski; her nephew, Brian (Kristin) Baranski Jr.; her 
19niece, Cheryl (Dave Ramirez) Baranski; her great-nieces and 
20nephews, Makenna, Carter, Logan, Ethan, Chase, Noah, and

1Olivia; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her best 
2friend, Bea Spights; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Roberta Lara, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, 
6friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Roberta Lara as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
