AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3009 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3009 on page 2, by 
3replacing lines 10 through 18 with the following:

 
4"notice shall be provided to the township supervisor of the 
5township in which the cemetery is located. Upon receiving 
6notice of a vacancy, the and thereupon said presiding officer 
7of the county board or, in cases in which the township 
8supervisor is the appointing authority, the township 
9supervisor with the advice and consent of the township board 
10shall appoint some suitable
person or persons to fill such 
11vacancy or vacancies; and that thereafter
the presiding officer 
12of the county board in which said cemetery association is

13located or, in cases in which the township supervisor is the 
14appointing authority, the township supervisor of the township 
15in which the cemetery association is located shall always 
16appoint some suitable person or persons interested in said 
17cemetery
association through family interments or who are 
18citizens of
the State of Illinois. If a township in which the

1township supervisor has the appointment authority under this 
2Section is dissolved, the appointment authority shall vest in 
3the presiding officer of the county board and the cemetery 
4association shall provide notice of vacancies to the presiding 
5officer to the county board of the county in which the cemetery 
6association is located. A township does not assume any 
7financial responsibility with respect to a cemetery 
8association because of the appointment authority granted by 
9this Section.".
