HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Representative Emily 
4McAsey on the occasion of her retirement as a member of the 
5Illinois House of Representatives; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Representative McAsey served the 85th District in 
7Illinois from January 2009 until June 2017 and represented the 
8communities of Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Lockport, Romeoville, 
9and Woodridge; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Prior to her election as a state representative, 
11Representative McAsey served her community as a teacher and as 
12a criminal prosecutor in the Will County State's Attorney's 
13Office; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, After coming to Springfield, Representative 
15McAsey focused on passing legislation that would increase 
16community safety, protect survivors of domestic abuse, 
17preserve our environment, and improve consumer safety; and

  
 
18    WHEREAS, Representative McAsey focused on providing 
19first-class constituent services to her district to help 
20resolve issues and to bring important resources to her 
21constituents, including through her annual Senior Celebration;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4congratulate Representative Emily McAsey on the occasion of her 
5retirement as state representative, and we commend her 
6dedication to helping the residents of the 85th District and 
7the State of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Representative McAsey as an expression of our 
10esteem and respect.
