| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva was founded on July 2, | ||||||
| 3 | 1903 and has diligently served the residents of Geneva and Kane | ||||||
| 4 | County for 115 years; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva has been an active member | ||||||
| 6 | of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois for over 30 | ||||||
| 7 | years, contributing to our state's largest trade association | ||||||
| 8 | dedicated solely to the community banking profession; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva is a locally owned | ||||||
| 10 | community bank and is committed to helping residents and | ||||||
| 11 | businesses build prosperity and forge lasting relationships | ||||||
| 12 | through teamwork, respect, and integrity; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Former Illinois Treasurer Oscar Nelson served as | ||||||
| 14 | President of The State Bank of Geneva before being elected to | ||||||
| 15 | statewide office in 1922 and later being elected State Auditor | ||||||
| 16 | in 1924 and 1928; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, While some banks have focused on building | ||||||
| 18 | branches, The State Bank of Geneva is committed to the | ||||||
| 19 | community banking mission of building deep and lasting roots in | ||||||
| 20 | the community; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva is committed to hiring | ||||||
| 2 | local employees, helping local businesses grow, supporting | ||||||
| 3 | community sports teams and charity events, and putting their | ||||||
| 4 | neighbors first; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva ensures that the money | ||||||
| 6 | their clients invest with the bank stays in Kane County to help | ||||||
| 7 | their neighbors achieve their dreams and to help the community | ||||||
| 8 | thrive; therefore, be it

| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 10 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 11 | congratulate The State Bank of Geneva, led by President | ||||||
| 12 | Christopher Barton, on their 115th anniversary, and we commend | ||||||
| 13 | their contributions to the economic vitality of the City of | ||||||
| 14 | Geneva and their continuing dedication to fulfilling the | ||||||
| 15 | community banking needs of the citizens in Kane County; we wish | ||||||
| 16 | them many more wonderful years; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to The State Bank of Geneva as an expression of our | ||||||
| 19 | esteem and respect.
