| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Erik Searle for achieving |
| 4 | | the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank and most coveted |
| 5 | | honor in Scouting; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Erik Searle is a member of Troop 297, Pathway to |
| 7 | | Adventure Council; during his scouting years he learned many |
| 8 | | skills, hiked many miles, mastered safe and responsible |
| 9 | | shooting skills, fished, cycled, earned the mile swim badge at |
| 10 | | age 11, camped dozens of nights, and was initiated as a Brother |
| 11 | | in the Order of the Arrow; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Erik Searle completed his scouting activities |
| 13 | | while also participating in his church youth group and learning |
| 14 | | the string bass; he earned a spot in the Symphony Orchestra at |
| 15 | | his high school and took four Advanced Placement Classes, |
| 16 | | earning college credit; he set a fine example for his peers and |
| 17 | | friends through his leadership, hard work, and commitment; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, An Eagle Scout Service Project is required to be |
| 19 | | of significant value to the community; for his project, Erik |
| 20 | | Searle used GPS to create a map of the 3D archery course for a |
| 21 | | not-for-profit archery club in Sycamore; the map is now proudly |
| 22 | | displayed by the club's front door and distributed on all of |
