HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Rockridge High School 
4Lady Rockets softball team on their 2018 Class 2A IHSA State 
5Softball Championship win; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Lady Rockets defeated the Lady Cats of Beecher 
7by a score of five to two; they finished the season with a 
8record of 30 wins and five losses and were undefeated in their 
9conference by winning all ten of their conference games; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Lady Rockets had a winning streak of 13 
11straight games; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, This is the second State Championship Title for 
13the Rockridge High School softball program; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, The Lady Rockets demonstrated sportsmanship and 
15great moral character by wearing purple ribbons to honor a 
16teacher and coach who was involved in a motorcycle accident 
17following their semi-final game; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20congratulate the Rockridge Lady Rockets softball team and

1extend our best wishes for the continued success and happiness 
2of each member of the team; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the Rockridge Lady Rockets softball team as an 
5expression of our esteem and respect.
