| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives would like to congratulate Andre Iguodala and | ||||||
| 4 | the Golden State Warriors on winning the 2018 NBA Championship; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala, a native of Springfield, played | ||||||
| 7 | basketball at Lanphier High School; during his time at | ||||||
| 8 | Lanphier, he won All-Conference academic honors and was the | ||||||
| 9 | Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year in 2002; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Golden State Warriors entered the playoffs | ||||||
| 11 | with 58 wins and 24 losses; Andre Iguodala averaged 8.1 points, | ||||||
| 12 | 2.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game throughout | ||||||
| 13 | the 2017-2018 season; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors flew | ||||||
| 15 | through the first two rounds of the playoffs with ease, winning | ||||||
| 16 | eight out of ten games and advancing to the NBA conference | ||||||
| 17 | finals against Houston with a very interesting seven-game | ||||||
| 18 | series; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, After Andre Iguodala and his team made it to the | ||||||
| 20 | NBA finals, they continued their streak by bringing their A | ||||||
| 21 | game to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a back-to-back showdown for | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | the Finals; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Golden State Warriors were able to close out | ||||||
| 3 | the series in Cleveland, Ohio with a game four 108-85 victory | ||||||
| 4 | against the Cavaliers, sweeping the Finals for the third | ||||||
| 5 | championship in four years; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala's accomplishments include | ||||||
| 7 | three-time NBA Champion, NBA Finals MVP in 2015, NBA All-Star | ||||||
| 8 | in 2012, NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2014, NBA | ||||||
| 9 | All-Defensive Second Team in 2011, NBA All-Rookie First Team in | ||||||
| 10 | 2005, NBA Rookie Challenge MVP in 2006, and a Gold Medal at the | ||||||
| 11 | 2012 Olympics in London; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 13 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 14 | congratulate Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors on | ||||||
| 15 | winning their third NBA Championship in four years; and be it | ||||||
| 16 | further

| 17 | RESOLVED, That we wish Andre Iguodala and his team many | ||||||
| 18 | more years of success; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Andre Iguodala and his family as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 21 | esteem and respect.
