HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Black Diamond 
4Harley-Davidson and its owners for their scholarship program, 
5which officially marks its ten year anniversary on April 21, 
62018; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Rodney Cabaness and Shad Zimbro, owners of Black 
8Diamond Harley-Davidson in Marion, Illinois, created the Black 
9Diamond Harley-Davidson Scholarship Program over ten years 
10ago; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The program, in conjunction with John A. Logan 
12College, Shawnee Community College, Southeastern Illinois 
13College, and Rend Lake College, offers a scholarship of $1,000 
14to a graduating senior from each high school in Southern 
15Illinois; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The program, coordinated with the help of Jeremy 
17Pinkston and Shannon Woodworth, has now reached a milestone of 
18distributing $500,000 to aid Southern Illinois students pursue 
19higher education; and
  
 

  
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
21HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1recognize Black Diamond Harley-Davidson and its owners for 
2their dedication to the students of Southern Illinois; and we 
3commend their commitment to assisting students in their efforts 
4to further their education from high school to college which 
5adds to the educational and economic development of the State 
6of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
8presented to Rodney Cabaness and Shad Zimbro as a symbol of our 
9respect and gratitude.
