HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Marquette 
4Catholic High School boys soccer team, the Explorers, on 
5winning the 2017 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State 
6Class 1A boys soccer title; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Explorers had a 4-3 extra-time win over 
8Monmouth-Roseville to take the state championship title, and 
9scored the winning goal in the 99th minute of the game; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, This 2017 win marks the fifth state championship 
11in the school's 91-year history; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Explorers are coached by Head Coach, Joe 
13Burchett; and Assistant Coach, Jordan Hogan; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Explorers are Nick Hemann, Joe Guehlstorf, 
15Noah Fahnestock, Nathan Joehl, Drew Whitelaw, Isaac 
16Hendrickson, Noah McClintock, Riley Velloff, Aaron Boulch, 
17Oscar Liu, Kwame Ngwa, Nick LaFata, Chris Hartrich, Kollin 
18Morrissey, Connor Noss, Trenton Dietiker, Justin Atkinson, Jon 
19Lyons, Ben Moehn, Jonah Fahnestock, Will Dixon, Brett Terry, 
20and Luke Atkinson; and

1    WHEREAS, The Explorers serve as models of hard work, 
2integrity, and dedication for the people of the State; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the Marquette Catholic High School boys soccer 
7team, the Explorers, on winning the 2017 Illinois High School 
8Association (IHSA) State Class 1A boys soccer title, and we 
9wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Marquette Catholic High School Explorers Head 
12Coach Joe Burchett and each member of the team as a symbol of 
13our esteem and respect.
