HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives
wish to congratulate the Illinois Jaycee 
4Senate on the occasion
of the 50th anniversary of its founding; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In 1967, the Illinois Jaycee Senate became the 4th

7recognized JCI Senate organization behind the states of Oregon,

8Pennsylvania, and California; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, On September 11, 1967, the Illinois JCI Senate was

10registered with the State as a not-for-profit corporation with

11the assistance of founding members B.J. Jackson, James Davin,

12Chuck Keeling, John Kujawa, and James O'Connell #5046; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, At the 1st Illinois JCI Senate meeting in Rockton,

1419 of the original 54 Senators adopted
a constitution and 
15elected officers,
including the 1st Charter President, James 
16O'Connell #5046; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, As of 2017, the Illinois JCI Senate is led by 
18Melodie Ainslie #69200 for the 2016-2017 term, and Marilyn

19Burton #55106 for the 2017-2018 term; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, In its 50 years, the Illinois JCI Senate has

1raised
thousands of dollars for goodwill missions across the 
2State, provided experienced assistance to local Jaycee 
3chapters, promoted fellowship amongst JCI Senators, and 
4impacted the lives of countless individuals; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate the Illinois Jaycee Senate on its 50th 
8anniversary, and we wish it continued success in the future; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented
to the Illinois Jaycee Senate.
