HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Boy Scouts of America 
4Troop 24 of Riverside on the occasion of the 100th anniversary 
5of its founding; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910; 
7Troop 24 was formed in Riverside on March 31, 1917; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, Since 1939, Troop 24 has been sponsored by 
9Riverside Presbyterian Church; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Over the past 100 years, hundreds of boys have 
11been members of
Troop 24; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Over 90 scouts from Troop 24 have attained the 
13rank of Eagle, the
highest rank in the Boy Scouts; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Troop 24 is celebrating its 100th anniversary with 
15a special
program on May 20, 2017; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
17HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18congratulate Boy Scouts of America Troop 24 on the 100th 
19anniversary of its founding, and we wish it many more wonderful

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to Troop 24 as an expression of our esteem and 
4respect.
