Raymond J. Rose on |
| 4 | | his retirement as Lake County Undersheriff, bringing a 50-year |

enforcement career to a close; and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rose became undersheriff in 2013; he |
| 7 | | previously served as chief
of police for the Village of |
| 8 | | Mundelein since 1992; prior to assuming the position of chief |
| 9 | | with
Mundelein, he served with the Elk Grove Village Police |
| 10 | | Department for 24 years, achieving the
rank of deputy chief; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rose has had extensive training and |
| 13 | | education focused on law
enforcement, including the 59th |
| 14 | | nine-month Police Administration Training Program class at
|
| 15 | | Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety, the 161st |
| 16 | | Session of the National F.B.I.
Academy at Quantico, Virginia, |
| 17 | | the 15th Session of the Senior Management Institute for Police
|
| 18 | | hosted by the Police Executive Research Forum and Harvard's |
| 19 | | Kennedy School of Government,
the Northwestern Executive |
| 20 | | Management Program, the FBI Midwest Law Enforcement
Executive |
| 21 | | Development Program, and the FBI LEEDS course at Quantico; he |
| 22 | | received his
bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences |
| 23 | | from Northern Illinois University and a master's

community, including being past |
| 6 | | president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, past

| 7 | | president of the Lake County Chiefs of Police Association, past |
| 8 | | president of the Board of
Directors-Northern Illinois Crime |
| 9 | | Lab, past president of the Northeast Multi-Regional Training

| 10 | | Board, chairman of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, |
| 11 | | chairman of the Lake County
Metropolitan Enforcement Group, |
| 12 | | secretary of the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Board,

| 13 | | and numerous other law enforcement affiliated organizations; |
| 14 | | and

| 15 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rose has had articles published in several |
| 16 | | law enforcement magazines,
including Police Chief Magazine, |
| 17 | | Command Magazine, and Law Enforcement Technology
Magazine; he |
| 18 | | co-authored a graduate-level textbook on public |
| 19 | | administration, Managing Local
Government; and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rose has received many honors during his |
| 21 | | storied law enforcement
career, including the Focus on Youth |
| 22 | | Award from the Chicago Police Department and the
Illinois |
| 23 | | Association of Chiefs of Police, the Law Enforcement Award from |
