| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives would like |
| 3 | | to recognize the Village of Sugar Grove in honor of the 50th |
| 4 | | annual Corn Boil; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The Sugar Grove Corn Boil was first founded in the |
| 6 | | summer of 1967 and has been held every summer since for the |
| 7 | | last
50 years; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Every year the Corn Boil is organized and carried |
| 9 | | out by volunteers comprised of local businesses, community |
| 10 | | leaders, and community members; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The theme for the 2017 Corn Boil will be centered |
| 12 | | around the 50th anniversary and sharing the memories of the |
| 13 | | past; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Every year at the end of the event, whatever |
| 15 | | profit is made is shared with local not-for-profit |
| 16 | | organizations; last year the 2016 Corn Boil Committee presented
|
| 17 | | checks to 18 local charities and organizations; therefore, be |
| 18 | | it
