HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of

3Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the seventh 
4and
eighth grade Hartsburg-Emden Stags volleyball teams on 
5winning the 2017 Illinois Elementary School Association Class  
67-1A and 8-1A State Championships; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, In the Class 7-1A State Championship, the

8Hartsburg-Emden Stags defeated Grayville in three sets; after

9losing the first set 22 to 25, the Stags bounced back to win 
10set
two 25 to 22; they then dominated set three 25 to 8 to win 
11the
championship; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, In the Class 8-1A State Championship, the Stags

13dominated Bartonville in two sets to cap off
their  perfect 
14season with their sixth straight State
Championship; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Leading the seventh grade team were Jenna Benner,

16Cassie Bridge, Brooke Denney, Allison Woolard, Lily Barry,

17Cassie Crabtree, Hope Griffieth, Desyre Espinoza, Violet Merz,

18Abby Montgomery, Dani Phillips, Addie Beekman, Izzy Cox, Cloee

19O'Donoghue, and Lorisa Riggs; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The eight grade team was led by Jo Jo Baker, 
21Serina
Baker, Grace Beekman, Brianna Grabowski, Lanie

4    WHEREAS, The Hartsburg-Emden Stags were skillfully coached

5by Head Coach Jennifer Hayes, a 26-time State Champion, and

6Haylie Langley; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9join
the many friends and fans of the Hartsburg-Emden Stags in

10congratulating them for winning the Class 7-1A and 8-1A State

11Volleyball Championships, and we wish them continued success; 
12and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be

14presented to the Stags as an expression of our esteem and

15respect.
