HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives would like

3to recognize Pat Quirk, 2017 Hall of Fame Inductee into the

4Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association (IWCOA); 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The IWCOA was founded in 1971 with the intent of 
7encouraging coaches and officials to cooperatively work

8together to recognize individuals, groups, and institutions 
9who
have further advanced the quality of the sport of 
10wrestling; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Pat Quirk is a 1996 graduate of Hinsdale Central 
12High School,
where he was a two-time Illinois High School 
13Association State Finalist, a two-time All West
Suburban 
14Conference selection, team captain, and a two-time
Junior 
15National All-American (Freestyle); and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Pat Quirk continued his wrestling career at the

17University of Illinois; he was a two-time All-American (8th in

182000 and 2nd in 2001), Big Ten Champion (2001), four-year NCAA

19qualifier, team captain, and a Fighting Illini All-Time Letter

20Winner; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Pat Quirk has remained involved in wrestling over

last 16 years;  he  resides in Clarendon Hills with his

2family; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

5recognize the accomplishments of Pat Quirk and congratulate him 
6on being inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and 
7Officials Association Hall of Fame; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Pat Quirk as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
