HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Geneva
High 
4School competitive dance team, the Vikings, on winning a rare 
5fourth straight Illinois High
School Association Class 2A 
6Competitive Dance State Championship, on January 28, 2017, at 
7the U.S.
Cellular Coliseum; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The Vikings headed into the finals tied with Lake 
9Forest, each team scoring 93.14 during the
preliminary routines 
10on January 27th; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The fourth straight State Championship was the 
12ultimate finish for a squad that likely will return
every 
13member of the team next year; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, The Vikings are coached by Head Coach Amy Van 
15Wagenen; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Vikings team members include Lyndsey Gerbec, 
17Lily Karlson, Triana Lee, Fiona McManus,
Kasey Murphy, Riley 
18Naselli, Madeline O'Rourke, Alexis Pender, Ashley Pender, 
19Carly
Ruggeri, Julianna Severino, Kinzie Sheridan, Katie 
20Wagner, and Amanda Werner; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the Geneva High School competitive dance team, the 
4Vikings, on winning the
2017 Class 2A Competitive Dance State 
5Championship, and we recognize their hard work,
dedication to 
6excellence, and proud representation of Geneva High School, the 
7entire community
of Geneva, and the State of Illinois; and be 
8it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
10presented to the Vikings as an expression of our esteem and 
11respect.
