HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to recognize the
Original Springs 
4Hotel in  Okawville on the occasion of its 150th  anniversary; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel was established in 1867 
7by Rudolph Plegge and C.H.
Helle as a small bathhouse, which 
8was opened in response to tests that yielded abnormally high

9mineral content in the water around the area; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel is the only continually 
11operating mineral spring in the
State of Illinois; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel boasts 38 guest rooms, 
13a restaurant, a pool, and a mineral
spa; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, The Original Springs Hotel is on the National 
15Register of Historic Places; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
17HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18recognize the Original
Springs Hotel in Okawville on its 
19150-year history and we wish them success and prosperity in the 
20future; and be it further

3symbol of our esteem and respect.
