| 5 | | "Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended |
| 6 | | by adding Section 40 as follows:

| 7 | | (615 ILCS 5/40 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 40. Dock safety. |
| 9 | | (a) A person who places or causes to be placed a dock in |
| 10 | | any river, lake, or stream regulated by the Department of |
| 11 | | Natural Resources shall equip the dock with reflector tape, or |
| 12 | | any other reflective material or equipment, in such a manner |
| 13 | | that it can be seen by an approaching boat. |
| 14 | | (b) A person who violates this Section commits a petty |
| 15 | | offense punishable by a fine of not more than $100. A person |
| 16 | | who violates this Section and the violation results in injury |
