AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5573 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5573 by replacing 
3lines 23 on page 20 through line 4 on page 21 with "defendant's 
4written motion. The victim may choose a different person to be 
5the victim's support person. The court may allow the defendant 
6to inquire about matters outside the scope of the  direct 
7examination during cross examination. If the court allows the 
8defendant to do so, the support person shall be allowed to 
9remain"; and 


 
10on page 21, immediately below line 12, by inserting the 
11following:
 
12            "If the court does not allow the defendant to 
13        inquire about matters outside the scope of the direct 
14        examination, the support person shall be allowed to 
15        remain in the courtroom after the support person has 
16        been called by the defendant or the defendant has

1        rested. The court shall allow the support person to 
2        testify in the State's rebuttal.".
