| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 356z.25 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/356z.25 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 356z.25. Preexisting condition exclusion. No policy |
| 8 | | of individual or group accident and health insurance issued, |
| 9 | | amended, delivered, or renewed on or after the effective date |
| 10 | | of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly may impose |
| 11 | | any preexisting condition exclusion, as defined in the Illinois |
| 12 | | Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, with |
| 13 | | respect to such plan or coverage.
