AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2388 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2388 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act is 
5amended  by adding Section 11.9 as follows:
 
6    (325 ILCS 5/11.9 new)
7    Sec. 11.9. Public database of child abuse or neglect 
8reports. No later than July 1, 2018, the Department shall 
9establish and maintain on its official website a searchable 
10database, freely accessible to the public, that provides the 
11following information on each child care provider licensed by 
12the Department:
13        (1) whether within the past 5 years the child care 
14    provider or any employee of the child care provider has 
15    been the subject of a report of child abuse or neglect made 
16    to the Department's State-wide, toll-free telephone number

1    established under Section 7.6 of this Act that was later 
2    classified by the Department as an indicated report of 
3    child abuse or neglect, and, if so, the date upon which the 
4    Department made its finding of abuse or neglect and the 
5    nature of the allegation of abuse or neglect; and 
6        (2) whether within the past 5 years the child care 
7    provider has had a license under the Child Care Act of 1969 
8    suspended or revoked by the Department, and, if so, the 
9    dates upon which the child care provider's license was 
10    suspended or revoked. 
11    The Department may adopt any rules necessary to implement 
12the provisions of  this Section. Nothing in this Section shall 
13be construed to allow or authorize the Department to release or 
14disclose any information that is prohibited from public 
15disclosure under this Act or under any other State or federal 
16law.".
