| 1 | | AN ACT concerning employment.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Nursing Mothers in the Workplace Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (820 ILCS 260/10)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 10. Break time for nursing mothers. An employer shall |
| 8 | | provide
reasonable paid unpaid break time each day to an |
| 9 | | employee who needs to express
breast milk
for her infant child. |
| 10 | | The break time must, if possible, run concurrently with
any |
| 11 | | break
time already provided to the employee. In the event the |
| 12 | | employee does not have a break within a 2.5 hour block of time |
| 13 | | the employer shall provide reasonable break time. An employer |
| 14 | | is not required to provide
break
time under this Section if to |
| 15 | | do so would unduly disrupt the employer's
operations.
