<reference>105 ILCS 5/2-3.64a-5</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the School Code. With regard to State and local assessments, provides that, beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, a school district may choose, rather than administering a statewide assessment through the State Board of Education, to administer an annual local assessment of all students enrolled in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and mathematics. Provides that a school district shall choose the assessment from a list of State-approved, nationally recognized assessments that meet the standards established by the State Board of Education and that include grade level proficiencies and student growth metrics. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
